help people help people

In line with some of the development work I was doing in the Peace Corps, every few months I hope to pick an NGO that is helping people in the developing world. I will donate 10% of the proceeds of from my website’s  print sales  and explain the NGO’s mission, give a few vignettes of how they are helping people and hopefully open a dialogue on alternative solutions to problems in the developing world.

If you have ideas for NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations)/ community projects/ developmental organizations to support, please contact me at debruyn.chris@gmail.com or leave a comment.

Current Featured NGO

  • Nature Iraq was created to protect, restore, and preserve Iraq’s natural environment and the rich cultural heritage that it nourishes through raising awareness of local communities, conducting environmental research and promoting environmental sustainability.

Previous Featured NGOs

  • Opening Village Doors Foundation seeks to raise the standard of living in communities in Kenya by working with the poor, village by village in partnership with the public and private sectors and other committed stakeholders, providing affordable and best practice models to help people lift them-selves out of poverty. To help support OVDF’s mission, consider making a tax-deductible donation.
